Business-to-business, or B2B, refers to a buyer and seller relationship between businesses. One business that provides services or products to another business would be in the B2B industry.

Marketers and salesmen that attempt to sell their products to other businesses are engaged in B2B marketing. Manufacturers or wholesale companies are examples of B2B companies, since they sell to other businesses, rather than consumers. B2B industries are almost always smaller in size and scope than B2C industries. The B2B markets are situated on the manufacturing – or supply – side of the supply chain, which tends to be more specialized, technical, and highly focused.
