Business-to-consumer, or B2C, refers to the buyer and seller relationship that exists between businesses and consumers. Unlike a business-to-business (B2B) relationship, B2C companies provide services and products to individual customers, as opposed to other companies or organizations.

The B2C and B2B are dependent upon each other, and, together, make up the supply chain, which exists to fulfill consumer demand. The supply chain is the product distribution chain that connects the consumer to the supplier. It begins with the supplier, such as a manufacturer, and ends by providing the end product to the consumer. The B2C companies, such as retail stores, interact with the consumer, while B2B companies interact and support the supply chain and the B2C businesses.
